You are invited to participate in a Night Vigil in your own home on December 15th 2023. Vigils are special times set aside for prayer and fasting from sleep.
When? from 10.00 pm to 6.30 am, or for as long as you are able
Where? in your own home.
It will be a time of communion with the Angels and Saints in heaven, with fellow believers in the Universal Church who are participating in the Holy Mass at every moment, and with those who are beholding Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament around the world.
As the end of 2023 nears, we have the opportunity to thank the Lord for the many blessings that have been poured out on the Church, our families, and ourselves in 2023. We can also pray for what our Lord has planned for us in 2024, particularly for our parish ministries, our families, our personal intentions and goals, and for the wider world with its many needs.
During this Night Vigil you might like to:
Read God's Word
Sing hymns
Pray the Rosary
Pray your favourite Novena
Pray the Liturgy of the Hours
Spend some quiet time simply talking with Jesus
Or pray in whatever way you feel led to.
Helpful Hints:
Cups of tea/coffee in between is absolutely fine.
Find a quiet place in your home and involve your family if possible, but try not to disturb each other during this time of prayer.
May you be assured of the love of God, the grace of our Lord Jesus and the anointing of the Holy Spirit during this special time of prayer.
