Our current focus areas
  • Refugees and People Seeking Asylum: Support of Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) and advocacy on human rights.
  • Environmental Stewardship: St Declan's is an Earthcare parish and works to advocate for how we can all protect our common home.
  • Indigenous Recognition: Supporting the Uluru Statement from the Heart and justice for First Nations people.
  • Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery: Awareness raising regarding ethical consumerism, particularly at Easter and Christmas.
Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Food Drive

JRS assists 150 families every week with its Foodbank.

St Declan's supports JRS three times a year by collecting essential kitchen and laundry items as well as gift cards.

Details for our upcoming JRS drives will be available on the Events page.

Caritas Australia and Project Compassion

Our parish supports Project Compassion, Caritas Australia's annual Lenten awareness raising and fundraising campaign.

In 2025, the theme is Unite Against Poverty and features development projects in Samoa, Vietnam and Democratic Republic of the Congo.

We also encourage donations to Caritas Australia's emergency appeals.

Earthcare

St Declan's is a registered Catholic Earthcare parish, joining a national network of like-minded Catholic parishes, schools, organisations and households committed to caring for our common home.

Each year we mark Laudato Si' Week and the Season of Creation and produce helpful resources to inspire ecological action.
